The Cult of Kefka Kefka is, I belive, one of the most underrated characters in Final Fantasy. As many people as there are who like this zany guy are people who utterly hate his guts. Kefka truly was a very unique character. He is currently the only villain who can really be claimed as a totally blithering idiot. Sephiroth, Ultimecia, ExDeath, Zeromus all worked out their plans to accomplish their dastardly deeds. Kefka? He just does everything as they come. Another thing that amazes me about Kefka is his total disregard of others, himself probably included. He is not looking to conquer the world, or guarantee survival, or become an almighty being. All he wants to do is destroy everything. Why? Because he hates everything. I mean, take a look at his confrontation with the heroes in the final battle of FFVI. They were literally pouring their hearts out to tell Kefka why they're fighting. Kefka's response? This is sickening, you sound like chapters from a self-help booklet! Well, one thing's for sure, you won't get an answer like that from Sephiroth. Moving on, Kefka is also one of the most ruthless characters ever. Never has anyone else poisoned a whole castle just to take over it, or slaughtered Espers as freely as he did. And when he got the Esper's power, he became even worse. Like the saying goes, "Power corupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely". What do you get when you give absolute power to an already corrupted mind? Kefka of course.
